Grace Marks Simulator
Check whether grace marks can convert a near miss into a pass under the AKTU limits.
Grace Marks Simulator
Simulation
Grace is applied in the order listed, only where it results in a pass.
About this tool
The simulator applies the grace marks provision notified by AKTU to your subject marks and shows whether the shortfall can be covered, how many marks would be consumed and which subjects remain unresolved. It is designed for students who are one or two marks short of the passing threshold.
How it works
Using the Grace Marks Simulator in three steps
Every step below reflects the actual calculation this tool runs, so you can check the result by hand if you need to.
- 1
Enter the subjects you are short in along with the marks obtained and the pass mark for each head.
- 2
The simulator checks the shortfall against the grace limit AKTU allows across the semester.
- 3
You see whether grace can clear the paper, how many marks are consumed, and what remains a genuine backlog.
Grace marks provision
Grace applied = min(Shortfall, Grace limit available for the session)- The grace limit is notified per session and is not guaranteed for every examination cycle.
- Grace marks are applied only where they result in a pass in the subject.
- Unused grace cannot be carried forward to a later semester.
Frequently asked questions
Is grace applied automatically?
The examination division applies the provision during result processing when the notified conditions are met.
Can grace marks be used for more than one subject?
Only within the total limit notified for that session, which the simulator lets you set.
Is grace applied automatically?
The university applies grace at result processing when the shortfall fits within the permitted limit. It is a rule, not a request you file.
Does grace affect Honours eligibility?
Yes. A degree awarded with grace marks is normally excluded from Honours consideration, which is why the Division and Honours tool asks about grace.
