About this tool

The evaluator applies the IGNOU division bands to your overall percentage and, when you supply credit figures, shows how much of the programme is still outstanding. It gives a single view of both the quality of the result and the progress towards completion.

  • The division is declared on the final consolidated result, not on a partial one.

Frequently asked questions

Does IGNOU award a distinction?

IGNOU generally reports First Division, Second Division and Pass. Any distinction terminology comes from the individual programme regulation.

Why enter credits at all?

Credits let the tool show how much of the programme is left, which is useful when a division is calculated on a partially completed record.

Is there a distinction category?

Most IGNOU bachelor programmes report only First Division, Second Division and pass. There is no separate distinction band.

Does a single backlog change the division?

The division is declared only after all courses are complete, so an outstanding course keeps the result provisional.
